The history of south Korea begins with the establishment of South Korea on 15 August 1948, 64 YEARS AGO!!! But, Syngman Rhee, the first president declared the establishment in Seoul on 13 August.

After the Japanese occupation in WWW2 in 1945, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel North(circle of latitude that is 38 degrees North of the earths equatorial plane) in accordance with the United Nation(UN) agreement to be administered by the soviet union in the North and the United states the South.

UN is a international organization whose aims are facilitating in international law and security, human rights and world peace.

Soviets + Americans=  unable to agree on the implementation of Joint Trusteeship over Korea, led to the 1948 establishment of two separate governments, each claiming to be the legitimate government of all of Korea.

Eventually, following the Korean war,the two separate governments stabilized into existing political entitles called North Korea and South Korea
